Me: 🎤 Building the Band (S1E1-6, 2025)
Even though I ranked this last, I still had fun watching it, because it’s such garbage. I enjoyed spotting the questionable production choices that clearly showed how terribly manufactured the entire process is. The very definition of a hate-watch for me.
I will absolutely watch the final episodes when they drop next week.
Chase: 🎬 The Comback (S2E1, 2014)
(Chase did not pay attention, he played on his phone. He missed out. —Dena)

Me: 👗 Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)
The Fear Street Trilogy from 2021 is SO GOOD. This addition is not in the same league, but it was still enjoyable.
Disclaimer: I close my eyes during the gory parts, so can’t comment on that.
Chase: 🚨 Sirens (2025)
Very much in the vein of White Lotus. Rich people are lame. Dry, relationship drama with no supernatural twist, even though one was teased.

Me: 🦖 Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
If you’re going to make mutant dinosaurs, why not give us a T-Rex with big arms, instead of a big forehead?
Chase: 🎤 Building the Band (2025)
Basically a platonic dating show but with music. But the performances and musical twists made it more enjoyable.
3rd place
Me: 🚨 Sirens (2025)
I love Meghann Fahy (from The Bold Type and in The White Lotus S2), so she was the main driving force behind my watch of this show. To a lesser degree, I was also enamored by the visuals (the whole thing is GORGEOUS) and Kevin Bacon.
Chase: 👗 Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)
Not as good as the original trilogy. Pretty ‘meh’ but had some fun 80s vibes. Spent all their budget on music.
2nd place
Me: 🎬 The Comback (S2E1, 2014)
The Comeback season 3 is coming in 2026! This is one of the few headlines in 2025 that I’ve been excited to see!
I watched the OG season and loved it, but then somehow forgot/missed the second season…until now. I’m seated.
Chase: 🦖 Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
Did what it needed to do. Fun on the big screen. Rehashes good elements from better films.
1st place
Me: 👬🏿 Sinners (2025)
This was really good, full stop. But—and this is a lowkey “but”—it also felt kinda indulgent? There was more set-up than we needed, and as good as Michael B. Jordan was in the dual roles, it was confusing since I couldn’t tell his characters apart. But—SPOILER ALERT—once people started dying it didn’t matter much anyway.
Chase: 👬🏿 Sinners (2025)
Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan can do no wrong. First half is interesting period film second half involves vampires. Vampirism is a very clear metaphor for racism and appropriation. There you go.
