These Shetland ponies wearing sweaters have remained one of my favorite internet discoveries for 12 years and counting. I’m sharing them now to brighten your day and to continue spreading the good word about their existence.
Truly, the photos speak for themselves, but I can try to articulate some of the main features for those who are so enamored that words and reason aren’t really coming.

The lore behind them (their names are Fivla and Vitamin, and I do not know who is who), is that they were part of a (very effective) Scottish tourism campaign from 2013. The OG page and posts are gone, but even as recently as May 2025, they were still getting nostalgia coverage.
The photos went deservedly viral, and there was some media coverage. If you google “Fivla and Vitamin” today (like I just did) you’ll find a sprinkling of links still talking about them, and also the general brilliance of the marketing campaign.
As of 2022, they were living in a field, with their original owner who blogs and posts photos! Though, I was too afraid to click through very much because I didn’t want to find out if anything sad happened between 2022 and now. Let’s just all assume that they’re living happily, comfortably, and snuggly.
