blips of goodness amidst the chaos

It’s Don Henley Season!

Do we still say “goals”? Because, goals.

I am not one to normally trust a man named Don, but there are occasional exceptions.

In this case, it’s for the writer and original performer of “Boys of Summer”:

Don MF-ing Henley.

that’s right, THIS GUY.

You know how you can tell a song is really just all-around good? It transcends genres*.

In this case, the OG version of Boys of Summer is great, the pop-punk version is great, the DJ Sammy version is great—and if there are others, I’m sure they’re great, too. I don’t even care. I don’t have to hear them to know the facts.

Questionable lyrics aside (is there stalking? Is there not stalking? I can’t tell), he might just be the first creator who influenced me to make an IRL purchase (😎).

Got my hair slicked back and those wayfarers on, baby.

So, tl/dr: If you don’t have this song already in heavy rotation in the summer, consider this a gentle nudge in the form of me standing outside your house in an Obama-tan colored trench coat, with my arms holding a boombox high above my head.

Don’t worry about the view count, they’re all from me anyway.

*I don’t know anyything about music.
