I Made you a Mix-Tape

I wonder if any other writers have a preferred playlist they use for writing…? Mine is an ever-evolving, ever-changing mish-mash of songs. Some are favorites I’ve loved for years, others are recent discoveries. While there are approximately 120 songs currently on the list, I thought I’d offer a small representation, a Top Ten if you will, of some of the tunes I consider to be anchors of the list.

In addition to being some of my favorite songs, these are the ones that, if I’m doing my job right, strike some of the same emotional chords as what I’m working on…

(In alpha order by title)

Barefoot Blue Jean Night, Jake Owen

Dog Days Are Over, Florence + The Machine

Everything’s Right, by Matt Wertz, along with the majority of catalog

Georgia Clay, Josh Kelley

I Never Told You, Colbie Caillat

Summer is Over feat. Sara Bareilles, by Jon McLaughlin

That Girl, Alexz Johnson

The Writer, Ellie Goulding

Until You, Dave Barnes

We Owned the Night, Lady Antebellum

Hopefully, I’m not the only person in the world who likes these songs. Enjoy!
